Shop Dandy Makeup Routine

This post has been requested over and over again. I have been putting it off for half a year and its time to finally share step by step the makeup products I use and the steps that I apply them.  I have never ever been good at makeup, but I have finally after years and years of practice and hundreds of wasted products later have found what works for me and what has become my everyday wear. I live in Florida and the humidity is insane so I have to be very careful with what products I use. If you live in the south you know what I mean. Dewy is great but Oily is yuck. Here are my steps:

1. Primer. I used to never wear primer, I thought it was always a waste of money. But I finally gave a couple different types a try and finally found one that changed my world. This is what helps keep my face looking perfect and untouched all day long. I mean ALL DAY LONG. I shoot in the mornings usually (8am-11am) and by time for my work out at 5:30 I literally have to wipe my makeup off completely like I just put it on 30 minutes ago. Primer works y’all, I swear by this ONE.                                                            (I apply with my fingertips)
2. Kat Von D Lockit Foundation. This changed my world. I have uneven skin tone and I like a medium coverage to fix that. I do not use any concealer because this foundation is that good. It is everything. It is the perfect base coat to create a clean look all over my entire face. I use the color MEDIUM 54.                                                                                    (I apply this with this Kabuki Brush)
3. Setting Foundation Powder. I use the matching shade to Kat Von D Lock It Powder. This has been a trick I have been doing for the last 9 months. It has kept my face looking set and untouched for hours on hours. This is key.                                                    (I apply this with this face powder brush.)
4. Eye Shadow. I use this eye shadow palette; Too Faced Natural Eyes. I am not a crazy eye shadow person. I like a little bit of a neutral lid with browns and golds. This palette has everything I need in it. Its perfect size for travel too and that way I don’t have to carry a huge eye shadow palette with me.
5. Eyeliner. If I decide to add wings for a shoot I use this Stila Eyeliner.
6. Contour under eye: I use this eye basics in the lightest shade to draw a triangle under my eyes to bring out the brightness of my eyes.                                                                       (I apply this with a beauty blender)
7. Cheek Contour with Bronzer Duo: I apply with this NARS brush an angled dark line from my hair line to my lips on the skinny bottom side of my cheeks. This goes below my blush. To add dimension to my cheeks and give me a contour look without actually contouring. In my opinion, I think this is the best duo on the market.
8. Blush. I love a good rose pop of blush with a little shine on the apple of my cheeks and up the cheek bone. I love that this blush has both colors in one. I use color Ecstasy.
9. Highlight. I either use the highlight shade in the duo above or I use my favorite MAC highlight. I run this at the very top of my cheek bone. On the tip of my nose. And at the very tip top center of my lips. Those are the areas you should always highlight.
10. Eyebrows. Anastasia makes the best dip brow ever. I have been using this for years and I love a good strong thick brow. This is everything, so easy to apply and a must do final touch.
11. Mascara. I do not use mascara on my top lashes because I have been wearing novalash eye lash extensions for 3 years now. I can not live with out them. When I want to brush/gel up my eyelashes I apply this brow/lash gel setting mascara to groom them into perfect place if I slept on them wrong. This gel is approved by all eyelash extensions and is a must have if you have extensions. It keeps your extensions looking brand new every day. When I wear mascara on my bottom lashes I swear by THIS Dior mascara.
12. Final Step: Setting Powder. I love this translucent setting powder. It works wonders and helps keep all of the above set for hours on hours.
13. LIPS. I love love love a nude lip. I wear a nude lip no matter what. My favorite lipstick/gloss/shade combo is this Bobbi Brown stick. I swear by it. I have like 4 in THIS shade ( BARE IS THE BEST NUDE EVER) and 3 in THIS shade (RICH NUDE) because I go through them so much and got find one sharp somewhere.
14. THE TAN! You guys ask about my tan on almost every Instagram picture I post. Well I am here to share my secret, IT IS THIS! I apply it every 4th shower with this applicator. This has kept me looking the same shade of brown all year long, it is the best kept beauty secret ever. If you can’t tone it, tan it! Tan it up girls!
